A ManageWP alternative for studios that run care plans

Last checked

ManageWP is a WordPress site manager. Bluprent is a CRM that manages the sites too. They overlap on updates, backups, monitoring and reports, and they diverge on everything around the site: the client, the invoice and the portal. If all you need is to look after many WordPress sites cheaply, ManageWP is the cheaper tool. This page shows by how much, and when the extra cost buys something.

What ManageWP charges

From ManageWP's pricing page, read on 2026-10-13: the core product is free for unlimited websites, including monthly cloud backup, security and performance checks, client reports, maintenance mode and one-click login. Extras are add-ons priced per website per month, with a flat bundle price that covers up to 100 websites. Billing is monthly.

A care-plan stack of backups, an uptime monitor, advanced client reports and white-labeling comes to:

Add-onPer website, per monthBundle, up to 100 sites
Backups$2$75
Uptime monitor$1$25
Advanced client reports$1$25
White label$1$25
Total$5$150

Tool cost, side by side

Per month, for the stack above, taking the cheaper of per-site and bundle pricing for ManageWP and the smallest Bluprent plan that holds that many sites:

25$125Studio$349
40$150Studio$349

ManageWP wins on tool cost at every size, and by a wide margin. If you stopped reading here, that is the right conclusion for a studio that only needs site management.

What the difference buys

ManageWP's pricing page lists no CRM, no invoicing and no client portal. If those live in other tools for you, the real comparison is the whole stack: the site manager, plus an invoicing tool, plus somewhere to keep the client, plus whatever you use for the portal or the monthly "here is what I did" email. Bluprent puts them in one record and prices by workspace, not by site. The case for a CRM for website maintenance is that the client, the site and the work are one thing.

Which to pick

  • Pick ManageWP if you only need updates, backups and reports across many sites, and you already have a CRM and invoicing you like.
  • Pick Bluprent if you run care plans as a business and are tired of stitching a client record together from four tools. Try it on three sites for free.
  • Use both if you want ManageWP's tooling and Bluprent's client layer. Nothing stops that.

Another option is MainWP. Bluprent plans and limits are on the pricing page. ManageWP's prices change; check theirs before you decide.
