BluprentSEOBot is the crawler behind SEO audits in Bluprent. A web developer who manages your site added it to their Bluprent workspace and started an audit. If you saw this name in your server logs, that is who it was.

Its user agent string is:

BluprentSEOBot/1.0 (+https://bluprent.io/seo-bot)

How it behaves

  • It reads /robots.txt first and follows it.
  • It makes at most two requests at once and waits at least half a second between request starts.
  • It gives up on a page after 10 seconds.
  • It audits 50 pages by default and never more than 200 per run.
  • It only reads. It sends GET requests for your pages and HEAD requests to check outbound links. It does not submit forms, log in or change anything.

How to block it

Add this to robots.txt and the bot will skip your site:

User-agent: BluprentSEOBot
Disallow: /
